Free DIY Garden Marker

Looking for a free DIY garden marker that is super easy to make?

Materials

We had everything on hand so these cost us $0.  But even if you needed to purchase masking tape [Currently $4.99 at Ace Hardware] and a 100 pack of skewers [Currently $.97 at Walmart], you’re looking at about $.07 a marker.

  • Skewers or takeout chopsticks
  • Masking Tape
  • Marker or Pen

Instructions

1. Write down your plant name directly on the tape. Then you don’t need to estimate the length you’ll need.

2. Pull the tape so it’s double the length of the area you wrote on.

3. Wrap the tape around the skewer or chopstick.

Voila, a garden marker.

Cheap, easy, and no artistic skill needed!

Another free DIY garden marker option – Tongue depressor or popsicle stick. Just write right on them. That’s it.

Gardening doesn’t have to be expensive and it doesn’t have to be uniform.  Use what you have on hand, get dirty and start growing.
