Instructions: How to build Meeka’s Mega Ice Treat for Dogs

1. Find your container.

Back to ordering Chinese food.. I like to use the large takeout soup containers. If you have a smaller dog, the small soup containers might be a more appropriate size. But it’s really up to you. You can honestly use any plastic container that you might find in your recycling – sour cream, cottage cheese, yogurt, you get the idea. But for me, the real step one is to order and devour some Chinese food. ✔️

2. Build the Ice Treat

Ok, so, this treat is a bit of a commitment. Stay with me. It only takes a maximum of 5 minutes to actively make. But it does take several hours and or days to actually complete it. Yes, you have to wait for the treat to freeze, but Meeka’s Mega Ice Treat is a layered delight. So it does take a little bit longer. But your fur babe is worth it, right? [As they’re staring at you right now.]

Now that I’m actually thinking about it, there are really only two steps. But step two, is kind of a few steps. Back to the layers.

What are you putting in this thing? What does your dog consider a treat? You can put in dog treats and or dog safe human food. We mix it up.

Whatever you choose to put in, that’s safe and fun for your dog, add it in layers. This is the trick to keeping your dog interested and entertained.

It drives us crazy how Meeka barely chews her [day to day ‘regular’] treats. She basically just swallows them whole because she’s so excited. Boom – insert the mega ice treat. It slows her down so she can fully savor and enjoy.

Day 1. Make your first layer. Put it in the freezer.

Day 2. Now that the first layer is frozen, make your next layer.

Continue on for as many layers as you’d like. Sometimes we go crazy with 4-5 layers. Sometimes we’re a little lazy/ forget and we end up with 2 layers. Either way, your pup is going to love it. It’s just a matter of how MEGA you’re going to make it.
