Things are getting exciting in the garden!
Week 3 vegetable garden update. Days 15-21
Project ‘Grow a Salad’ is really showing progress. Out of 30 seeds, 17 have at least 1 sprout. We’re ecstatic! Obviously, we have a long road until we EAT. But watching the growth is really a big part of the enjoyment of gardening. Every morning, we enjoy some coffee while inspecting the trays for new growth. What a nice way to wake up.
You may want to go back and read part 1 and or part 2.
Tray 1 – We have growth in 9 out of the 12 cells. (14 days of growth)

Tray 2 – Growth in 8 out of 18 cells. (7 days of growth)

17 Days of growth for Tray 1

10 days of growth for Tray 2

Tray 2 definitely looks more impressive. Although we’re not actually sure if the height is a good thing – they may be stretching for light. We don’t think so since the location gets pretty good sun, but we’ll see. Either way, the success rate is pretty good in both trays. 10 out of 12 for tray 1 and 16 out of 18 for tray 2! [With at least 1 sprout.]
Cherokee Wax Bean sprouts
This is day 11 for tray 2 at 7:30ish AM. We wanted to highlight this seedling because it’s a monster.

Look at the top right corner – cell 6. This is 1:39 PM the same day. Just 6 hours later!
